Have you ever sent a personal email from
your work email account— one that you really shouldn’t have? In my newest
release, Dating and Other Dangers, the heroine, Nadia, works in HR in an old
school big insurance company in London. Using social media at work, on work
computers, is an absolute no-no. And we’ve seen it so many times in real life,
right? The personal email sent from a work computer that goes viral and round
the globe in a matter of hours leading to embarrassment, notoriety—and in some
cases, dismissal…
Well Nadia isn’t that clueless—not when
she’s one of the people to have drafted the company internet use policy anyway…
no, she goes on her forum in her own time, on her own computer. Only then one
of the guys who’s been named and shamed on her forum turns up at her workplace
and challenges her on every level—intellectually, morally, socially, most
especially physically ;)
So how’s she going to deal with him?
I find social media—especially online
forums—equally fascinating and terrifying and I had so much fun coming up with
the ‘he said/she said’ blog wars between these guys. When I worked in a bank,
using the internet for personal stuff was absolutely forbidden—but I guess it
depends on the company or industry you’re in, right? Does your work place let
you check in on Facebook or Twitter on work computers? Even if it does, do you?
Or do you use your personal phone or iPad for updates? What do you think about
work place social media rules—are they too draconian or fair enough? Is it okay
to Tweet through a meeting? Have you ever snuck a quick squizz at a webpage
that you shouldn’t have while at work?
Nadia Keenan’s first date Do’s and Don’ts:
1.
Do boost your confidence by looking hot
2.
Don’t put out until at lease date two
3.
If the man is trouble (however
sexy!) do report all on www.WomanBWarned.com
After being trashed on Nadia’s website,
serial dater-and-dumper Ethan Rush is about to put Nadia’s rules to the test.
He’s determined to change her mind about him. She’s determined to prove him for
the cad he is.
Let
the battle of the dates begin…
