Today I went back to visit the insurance agency where I worked for ten years. After I had my third child, I decided to stay home and become a full time writer and mom, but I still have tons of friends at the agency. The awesome human resource girl, Jen Turner, set up a little book signing for me so I could show off my work! It was lots of fun visiting my old friends. Everyone at this company was supportive of my dreams long before I was published. A lot of them read these books back when they were just manuscripts, but still picked up a few copies. Here are a few photos from my visit.
This is my friend Jill Lance, getting autographed copies of all three of my books (even though she already has them). She said she's wrapping these three in saran wrap that way they will be in mint condition when I'm famous. LOL.
Last, but certainly not least, this is a shot of me with one of my best friends, Erin Coffey. We were partners at the insurance company, but we also graduated from Wildwood Catholic High School together back in 1994. AND she was my maid of honor at my wedding. So we definitely have some history. I think she is the only one who can truly appreciate the characters in ALL my books because she knows most of the people who inspired them personally, whether they were from work or school. Erin was also one of my most supportive friends when it came to writing. She helped me proof read both books in the Destiny series. We spent literally hours reading it together at work, at the playground, and even at the beach. If I ever really do get rich and famous, I'll make sure she can retire early! Until that day comes, she at least gets free copies of every book I write!
